Entry Fee: $15.00.
For early registration, make your check payable to "S.C. Chess
Association" and send along with your scholastic player's info (name,
birth date, school, grade, USCF#) to "David Y. Causey, 741 Dragoon Dr.,
Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464". By registering and paying beforehand, it will
preclude long lines at registration the day of the tournament. Also, if
your player has not played in any S.C. tournaments since last year's
state scholastic, add $5.00 to your check for the SCCA junior
membership. Valid USCF and SCCA memberships are required. Both USCF and
SCCA memberships can be purchased at registration, but it will add to
the process of registering all the players in a timely fashion.
Trophies will be awarded to the following:
1st - 3rd - Each Section: High School, Middle School, & Elementary
School Individual
1st - Each Grade: K-12
1st Team - Each Section: High School, Middle School, & Elementary School
Top finishing High School player will receive funding assistance towards
the Denker Tournament of High School Champions. Top finishing female
participant (preferably from the High School section) will receive
funding assistance towards the Polgar Invitational Tournament. Top three
finishers in each section (High School, Middle School, Elementary
School) will also receive one year's paid membership to the USCF.
