The South Carolina Chess Festival is a chess extravaganza featuring rapid, blitz, and bughouse tournaments; an afterparty; and as much chess as at which you can shake a chicken wing. Register for all three events or any combination thereof! Save money with full festival registration.

The event will also serve as the South Carolina rapid and blitz state championship. The top finishing South Carolina residents in those respective tournaments will be declared state champions.

Rapid Tournament (Sat.& Sun.- April, 14-15)

Round Times: Registration 9:30 to 10:15. Saturday rounds at 10:30, 11:30, 2, 3, 4; Sunday rounds at 10:30, 11:30, 2, 3.

Time Control: G/15 mins; increment 10

Prizes: $305, $205, $105, $80, $30 U1600 $80, $30 U1200 $80, $30 - Prizes based on 40, 70% guaranteed.

Blitz Tournament (Sat. - April, 14)

Round Times: Registration 6 to 6:45. First round at 7. Tournament will be 9 rounds, double swiss.

Time Control: G/3 mins; increment 2

Prizes: $120, $85, $65, $50 U1600 $50 U1200 $50 - Prizes based on 30, 70% guaranteed.

Bughouse Tournament (Sun.- April,15)

Round Times: Registration 4 to 4:45. First round at 5. Tournament will be 7 rounds swiss.

Time Control: G/5 mins.

Prizes: Trophies to the top team and top junior (U18) team.
